The Crescent Ethical MDA finds its inspiration in faith-based standards for promoting general human
well-being and socio-economic justice. The portfolio is constructed from shares contained in the
S&P/ASX 200 Index that satisfy, amongst other things, the following criteria: -

They
are not directly involved in adult
products and services, alcohol, tobacco,
gaming, armaments, banking and insurance;

They
do not have financial ratios that breach the following
levels: -
(Total Debt)/(Market Capitalisation) ≥ 33%;
(Cash + Interest Bearing Securities)/(Market Capitalisation) ≥ 33%;
(Accounts Receivable)/(Total Assets) ≥ 33%;

They
do not have a Chairman who also functions as the Chief Executive Officer.
The portfolio is subject to standards derived from a predominantly Islamic methodology of screening the share market.
